About Me and My Massage Journey

I trained in massage in 2019. It was a long time coming and I think my reason “why” will resonate with you.

I used to work in an office as a Project Manager with a background in marketing, it was my career and I experienced my own share of work based stress. Massage was one of the only things that helped me ease the day to day tension I hold in my shoulders and neck, which at times can be painful. Prior to training in massage, I felt helpless in helping those around me with their stress and overwhelm.

I was in a personal training session one day, I was experiencing yet another bout of work based stress (my boss was an arse), and I was talking about my fascination with massage and how it really helped me.  During our conversation I just thought, “I am going to learn this.”

So I stopped talking about massage and went to college to learn. I have not looked back since.

I practice very much under the ethos, “The Body Keeps a Score” and there is a book by Bessel Van Der Kolk by this title. Do have a read because I think you will find the book fascinating.

Throughout my education I have learnt so much more than I anticipated. After training at Exeter College, I took the opportunity to increase my training at School of Bodywork, in Exeter. I have also completed further training through Gateway, in Pregnancy MassageHot & Cold Stones Massage and Myofacial Release.

I have learnt something I love and I have learnt I am good at it, but you do not just need to take my word for this, check out my testimonials, for some thoughts from my clients. It really does go to show that when you are doing something you love, it does not feel like work.
